What Is Music Composition?
Officially, music composition is an original piece or work of music— either vocal or instrumental. It can also refer to the structure of a musical piece, or to the process of creating or writing a new piece of music. It is, essentially, the collection of notes, melodies, phrases, rhythms, lyrics, and/or harmonies that make up the essence of the work. Composing music means that it is done from scratch— it is not from a pre-existing composition that has already been published and copyrighted.
